  • Walking In Covenant

Covenant is a legal agreement binding on two or more individuals whose mutual interests are involved. It is legal because every covenant has term and conditions binding on the parties.

Once covenant is sealed, both parties are entitled to their respective benefits. From creation God has never walked with his creatures without covenant

Gen 2:15-17 And the LORD God took the man, and put him into the garden of Eden to dress it and to keep it. 16 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: 17 But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die.

God gave man Eden, to freely eat everything

God agreed with Adam not eat the tree of knowledge of good and evil. The condition is if he disobey, he will die.

Every covenant practice pays (Gen 8:22).

Preparing yourself for 2026 covenant practice

A lot of people claim to be in one good covenant or the other, but big question is how many of us are good covenant practitioners?

Being in covenant and not practicing the requirements of any covenant it’s a mere joke. The truth is that covenant practice is a game changer in anyone’s life.

From Abraham ((Gen 12:1-4) To Isaac (Gen 26:1-2, 12-14) To Jacob (Gen 28:18-22)

    To Jephthah (Judges 11)

To Apostles (Acts 1:4-8, 2:1-3) In Duet 28:1-2, God spoke to us.

How do we prepare for this year covenant practice?

    1. Believe that God rewards those who walks in covenant with him – Psalm 50; 5 Gather my saints together unto me; those that have made a covenant with me by sacrifice.
    2. Be determined to practice covenant walk without fail – Proverbs 22:29 Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.
    3. See every covenant practice as your sure way to success.
    4. Ask God in prayers for grace to walk faithfully – Proverbs 16:3 Commit thy works unto the LORD, and thy thoughts shall be established.
  • Success Derived Through Covenant Service

Introduction: A covenant service is a deliberate, committed agreement by a believer to serve God faithfully, not of convenience but out of: Devotion, obedience and love.

John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Luke 2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

Covenant of service turns God into your employer, promoter, provider and defender.

When God is committed to you in this regard, life becomes easy and successful. Covenant service aligns a believer with God’s purpose

When we enter covenant of service, it aligns us with Gods will. (Matt 6: 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.) Committed Service redirects our focus from self-centered ambition to God’s centered purpose.

Once alignment is achieved God begin to supply directions, clarify and provision for our personal success.

    Covenant service attracts divine favor

Committed service positions a believer for God’s favor which human effort alone cannot produce. (Luke 5:6-8)

Favor accelerates progress, open doors and arouse helper (2Kings 4:8-9) Committed service help Joseph, in Portipher house, via prison to palace

Gen 39:5….. that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the

LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field. It provokes supernatural provision

God always take responsibility for those who are committed to his work.

1Kings 17: 3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. 4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

1Kings 19: 5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. 6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.

    It builds competence and character

Do you know that service develops humility, discipline, faithfulness, leadership and confidence. It makes us better people in the society and on our personal assignments.

Luke 16: 10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: It guarantees victory over life battles

God fights for those who are committed to his cause

Numb 12: 2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it. 3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) 4 And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto

Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out. 5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth. 6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet

among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. 7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. 8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? 9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.

Exd 14: 14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. It gives divine promotion

Promotion in God is tied to committed service

Psalms 75:6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

1Sam 18: 5 And David went out whithersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.

Luke 19:17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

How to enter a covenant service

    1. Make a conscious dedication, not emotional. (Josh 24:15) Surrender your ability to God, your times, resources and skill (Roms 12:1)
    2. Identify where God wants you to serve (Music, administration, media or etc)
    3. Be Committed to faithfulness not only visibility (1Cor 4:2) showing up consistently, doing your small tasks well, serving even when inconvenient
    4. Always seal your service with prayer and fasting (Psalm 50:5)

Conclusion: All the successful people we saw in the Bible are all men of committed service. Abraham – Gen 19, Jacob, David, Moses, Mordecai, Esther, Nehemiah, Paul, Peter, Philip Etc.

  • The Place of Grace in Your Covenant Practice

2 Peter 1:2. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

In matter of Covenant practice, much grace is really needed

    What is grace?

    • It is that divine help freely given by God, to help your inability to become able. – Heb 11:11
    • Grace is a divine support God gives a believer to enable him achieve God’s purpose for him.

Most people fail because the absence of requisite grace to carry on. Hence every covenant demands diligent commitment towards your obligations for delivery. (Isaiah 1:19, Job 36:11)

Grace helps us to sustain responsibility and our duties in the covenant. In fact, grace makes covenant keeping possible.

Even when we fail in our obligation, grace allows us to repent and continue. (Luk 15:17-18) Without Grace covenant failure would be permanent rejection. – 1John 1:9.

    How do we receive grace?

    1. Grace is accessed by faith, by just believing on Christ finished work. (Eph 2:8) (John 1:17)

We ask God for grace, to help us in times of need (Heb 4:16)

    • Stay in covenant relationship: grace flows through spiritual alignment with God and his church. (Acts 4:33)

Why is grace needed in covenant practice?

Man in his best cannot keep the demands of covenant, but the presence of grace makes it easy. Psalms 39:5….. verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity.)

Note: There’re different graces to whatever we wanted, but the grace for service and good Christian living is our focus in this year.

Christian service is not sustained by zeal and talent but by special grace from God.

1Cor 15: 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Grace is bestowed on a covenant practitioner, to keep him from weariness or burnout as well make covenant keeping light.

Phil 2: 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Heb 13: 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

    How do I multiply grace?

2 Peter 1:2. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

Grace is grown through knowledge of God and Christ. Seek to know more about the ways of God

Jeremiah 9:24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.

  • Prayer And Covenant Practice

Prayer is the main way covenant partners communicate, align and enforce the terms of the covenant. (Gen 15:2-6)

Therefore, prayer is the platform where you and God meet to straighten and strengthen your covenant terms, responsibilities and benefits.

    6. Always seal your prayers with the blood of Covenant (John 14:13-14, Heb 9:14-15)
  • Oh Lord Upgrade My Anointing

Introduction: This is the cry of someone who is tired with his present state.

Text: Psalm 92:10 But my horn shalt thou exalt like the horn of a unicorn: I shall be anointed with fresh oil.

A unicorn is a flying horse (horse is known for strength and speed, when the horse grows wings it will become powerful)

✅ Anointing is not static therefore the anointing that brought you to that level you are cannot Carry you to the next level of your dream.

Anointing gives you spiritual capacity, authority and impact

In scripture and life, we have seen men rose from local to national to global impact

There’s a dimension of grace you are now but until the anointing upon you is upgraded there’re certain breakthroughs and responsibilities you can’t handle.

An upgrade anointing refers to a higher dimension of grace and empowerment upon a person’s life. It is moving from one level of spiritual capacity, authority and impact to another.

King David had upgraded anointing three times

👉 As a shepherd (1Sam 16:13) and he killed Goliath

👉 As king over Judah (2Sam 2:4) And he prevailed over the house of King Saul (2Sam 3:1)

👉 As king over all Israel (2Sam 5:3) and he brought down the Philistines Each anointing mark a higher level of responsibility and authority and impact.

    Levels of anointing

👉 Anointing for survival – grace to subdue resistance and stagnation

👉 Anointing for leadership – grace for higher influence in business or position.

👉 Anointing for service – grace to function effectively in God’s kingdom

👉 Anointing for territorial dominion – This anointing takes you away from nothing to something.

Signs you’re entering an upgrade anointing

    1. Holy dissatisfaction with current level – Moses
    2. Increased spiritual burden – Nehemiah
    3. Greater doors opening – Paul
    4. Demand exceeding your current capacity – Elisha
    5. Deeper prayer burden – Jesus

    How to provoke upgrade anointing

    1. Capacity Enlargement – Faithfulness in present assignment (Luk 16:10) Intense hunger to rise in level (Mtt 5:6)
    2. Sacrificial service- kingdom service enlarges spiritual capacity – Mtt 4:20-22
    3. Deeper Consecration – Holiness and set apart sustains higher oil – 2Cor 6:17
    4. Impartation – Association with higher grace transfers capacity (double portion anointing – 2Kings 2
    5. Covenant alignment – Aligning with God’s covenant practice (service, seed and soul winning)
  • Introduction To Covenant Practice

Gen17: 1 And when Abram was ninety years old and nine, the LORD appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. 2 And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. 3 And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, 4 As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations.

    (Gen 15:18).

One thing is to know about covenant another thing is walking in or practicing the covenant. Living daily in conscious alignment with your covenant relationship with God is called covenant practice.

Hence the covenant is what defines your duties or responsibilities and your rights or benefits from

God, you have to consciously and consistently practice it.

Things that help your covenant practice

    1. You must have understanding: Of What you seek from God, Of What is expected of you to always do in that regard, and of what will happen if you fail on your duties. (Prov 21:16)
    2. You have to Walk in Complete Obedience: For any covenant to yield your dream, your willingness to keep your part is not negotiable (Isaiah 1:19, Job 36:11)
    3. Practical obedience – following God’s word, keeping your part even if it’s not convenient (Psalm 15:4.…He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.) Maintaining biblical principles to help boost your obedience.
    4. Practicing in faith and trust: (Hab 2:4). – In covenant practice we walk by faith and not by feelings or sight. Hence covenant benefits doesn’t show in the beginning, there’s need to stay focused even when results are yet to happen. (Heb 10:36) (Eccl 11:3). You must continue practicing and in trusting God despite the circumstances. (Gal 6:9).
    5. Maintain Covenant Relationship: (Romans 12:11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;) For the covenant to yield results, we must maintain Covenant relationship with God. Speaking the obvious, declaring the results, studying the scriptures, maintaining worship.
    6. Walk in love and integrity: Because God is a God of justice, you must maintain justice
    7. Truthfulness and mercy
    8. Maintain faithfulness: Avoid breaking your intimate relationship with God.

Other things that may boost your covenant practice: Giving, sacrifice, tithing, offering, helping the needy and service in Church.

Walk in consciousness of your covenant: Be aware that you’re committed to God, in the matter of Covenant (1Sam 2:30). Heaven backs only those who are covenant keepers – Heb 13:5.

Mistakes believers make while in covenant

    1. They see covenant as transaction and not relationship: they only come to covenant because of what they need, and once they get it, they walk away. That is why many easily lose their covenant benefits so soon.
    2. Selective obedience: Obeying God in areas of convenience, while ignoring others.
    3. Weakening covenant through unforgiveness: Not knowing that unforgiveness blocks covenant blessings.
    4. Ignoring terms of the covenant: Ignoring your responsibilities in the covenant relationship will destroy the benefits.
    5. Expecting covenant benefits without covenant responsibilities: If you are not ready to do what is expected of you don’t expect good results.
  • The Place of Wisdom in Covenant Practice

Wisdom is the right application of knowledge and is helpful in our covenant practice. Eccl 10:10. Wisdom is profitable to direct.

Prov 4: 7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

Right understanding and right application of God’s principles leads to quality covenant delivery. Without wisdom covenant obligations can be misunderstood, misapplied or abused.

Wisdom helps us to understand covenant terms

Knowing that every covenant has conditions, promises and responsibilities. Therefore, wisdom helps a believer to:

Know what God requires us to do and what he promised (Job 36:11) obey and serve

Distinguish between God’s command (Mal 2:10), principles (Isaiah 1:19) and Privileges (Rom 5:8) Wisdom guides the covenant practitioner right

Covenant terms must be applied correctly and timely. Wisdom helps you: Act appropriately in different situations.

    Avoid careless (Jam 3:13).

Wisdom preserves the covenant from violation

Most covenant breaches are not done out of rebellion but ignorance of the consequences. Wisdom guides from actions that break covenant alignment (Prov 22:3)

    Wisdom helps to maintain faithfulness

To stay consistent during delay, pressure or testing time, wisdom is at work. Heb 10:36. Wisdom balances faith, patience, obedience and humility

    Prov 13:20

Do you know that in covenant practice? Grace empowers obedience

Mercy restores after failure – Luk 15:20

Wisdom ensures you do not repeat mistakes.

    How do you get wisdom?

    1. By asking in prayer – Jam 1:5
    2. By keeping company with wise believers – Prov 13:20
    3. By studying books written by genuine wise spirited individuals – Dan 9:2

How do we increase in wisdom?

Jesus increased in wisdom Luk 2:52

    1. Reverence (fear) of God, his word and authority, avoid casual obedience
    2. Ask God deliberately -Jam 1:5
    3. Pray specifically for wisdom like Solomon – 1Kings 3:9
    4. Consistent in study of God’s word: Read with the aim of understanding and ready to apply.
    5. Walk in obedience: Every act of obedience increases your wisdom on that thing.
    6. Keep company with wise people: Wisdom is contagious, learn and do from spiritually matured people
    7. Embrace discipline and correction (Prov 12:1): Welcome rebuke, correction and instruction for better results.
    8. Apply wisdom daily- practice makes perfect. (Luk 7:35) Apply wisdom in everyday life.
  • Covenant Of Divine Health

God has committed himself to covenant of divine health with any of his children who also committed themselves to covenant of kingdom service. (Exd 23:25).

In this covenant God commit himself to sustaining the heath of his covenant children.

It is God promising a committed covenant child the benefit of sound and good health. (Exd 15:26) This covenant promise is only for those who are in covenant practice of kingdom service.

Key scriptures that establish good health covenant

    • Exd 23:25-26 – He removes sickness from among his people. Deut 7:15 – No evil disease is permitted
    • Psalms 105:37 – There was no feeble person among them. Prov 4:20-22 – God’s word is health to our flesh
    • Healings have been paid by Christ – Isaiah 53:4-5, 3John 1:2 – God’s desire is for his covenant committed children to stay healthy.

Condition for us to receive and retain divine health

    1. By walking and maintaining covenant obediently – (Exd 15: 16….. If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the LORD thy God,)
    2. Right living – bitterness, unforgiveness, immorality and fear weakens spiritual health which afterward affects physical health
    3. Avoid stressful lifestyle, work moderately, take time to rest and refresh – Exd 23:12
    4. Maintain Joyful heart of praise and thanksgiving – Praise keeps the heart open to God’s healing (Psalms 103:1-5)
    5. Faith in God’s Word – Faith activates covenant promises (Heb 11:6)

Practical ways of enforcing covenant of divine health

    1. Speak healing scriptures daily – Psalm 107:20
    2. Anoint yourself with oil in faith – James 5:14
    3. Serve God faithfully – Exd 23:25
    4. Obey God willingly – Exd 16:26
    5. Keep declaring your good health – 1Peter 2:24.

How to declare good health over yourself

My father my maker, I declare sound health to my eyes, my heart receive good health, I command healing upon my blood and my blood pressure, I declare my kidneys healed, I command my system to reject any infection, my bones receive strength, my stomach stay sound, etc. just keep declaring and believing.

  • The Place of Kingdom Service in Covenant Practice

Service is not optional but a core requirement and a living proof of covenant relationship with God. Most times we suffer storms, bring problems to other members of our family and even have personal problems because we are running away from service like Jonah. (Jonah 1:3).

Every covenant demands Commitment, obedience and loyalty, and kingdom service is a practical expression of them.

Covenant without service, may not nullify the covenant but would surely prevent you from enjoying the benefits of the covenant. (Abraham was in covenant but couldn’t see the benefit until God called him to order – Gen 17:1,4)

Kingdom service is your evidence of Covenant Commitment

Your service is a show of allegiance to the demand of your covenant demands – (Exd 23:25-26). Covenant blessings are triggered by your service

In scripture, blessings follow service, in fact many covenant benefits are activated through service. (Job 36:11, Duet 28:1-2)

Service is the pathway to divine reward

God rewards labour and not intentions (Heb 6: 10 For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.).

Service is a proof of love for God

Hence covenant practice should be more of relationship than transactional, service demonstrates that love for God.

(John 14: 15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.) Kingdom Service qualifies you for greater trust

In covenant dealings with, God commits more to those who serve well. Service brings promotion

(Mtt 25: 21. His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful servant: thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things,)

Absence of kingdom service weakens covenant benefits

Any covenant without service automatically becomes inactive, dormant and unfruitful. (Luke 10:7). Covenant establishes relationship but service activates the benefits.

    Service keeps you spiritually active

Many spiritual falls begin when service is abandoned or neglected. (In doing your service, you pray more, study more, fellowship more, whenever you drop in service your spiritual life would begin to go down).

Service positions you for eternal rewards

Though your salvation may remain but you may not have eternal rewards (2 Timothy 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.)

Neglecting service has terrible eternal consequences

(1Cor 3: 15 If any man’s work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.)

    Robbers of service reward

    1. Serving as you like and not as demanded: Serving according to your own suitable time, day or pattern. (making yourself above the general rules of engagement).
    2. Serving out of necessity: Seeing your service as a help instead of your responsibility towards you covenant demands.
    3. You have no plan to grow in your service: you Remain a casual service provider and never want to grow
    • Serve so that you would be noticed: Eye service

Don’t serve with your resources: Your labour is enough, don’t include your money.

  • The Place of Mercy in Covenant Practice

Heb 4: 16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

The final product of every covenant with God is the delivery of help we seek from him. Mercy is that door that leads to that help of God.

Without mercy it would be difficult for humans to sustain covenant responsibilities.

Sacrifice and offerings alone cannot guarantee our covenant dreams, but the mercy of God can complete the assignment. (Hosea 6:6 For I desired mercy, and not sacrifice; and the knowledge of God more than burnt offerings.)

God’s covenant with man is rooted on mercy and not human perfection.

Psalms 89: 28 My mercy will I keep for him for evermore, and my covenant shall stand fast with him. Without mercy covenant will collapse under human weakness and failure. (Psalms 39:5….. verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity.)

    • Mercy covers covenant failures: because every covenant has conditions, when there’s failure, mercy provides restoration when those conditions are broken.
    • Mercy opens the doors that obedience alone cannot open.

Roms 9:15 For he saith to Moses, I will have mercy on whom I will have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion. 16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

    • Mercy opens the door of grace and favor

In Gen 6:8. But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD.

Though that whole generation was guilty of corruption and wickedness which condemned them, but one and his household out of mercy of God escape.

2Peter 2:5 And spared not the old world, but saved Noah the eighth person, a preacher of righteousness, bringing in the flood upon the world of the ungodly; 6 And turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashes condemned them with an overthrow, making them an ensample unto those that after should live ungodly; 7 And delivered just Lot, vexed with the filthy conversation of the wicked:

Noah and Lot were treated differently not because they were righteous, though they were perfect but because mercy was added to their righteousness (Isaiah 64: 6 But we are all as an unclean thing and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags;)

    • Keeping of Covenant is not by power: It takes grace; therefore, mercy helps us to fine that grace to help in time of need. (Heb 4:16,)

Mercy governs human response in covenant

God expect those covenant practitioner to show mercy because that’s the way it works. Mtt 5:7

Luk 6:36 Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. 37

Forgive those who offend you as your show of mercy.

Conclusion: Try to live free minded towards everyone regardless of what they did or what they are doing.
