Success Derived Through Covenant Service

Introduction: A covenant service is a deliberate, committed agreement by a believer to serve God faithfully, not of convenience but out of: Devotion, obedience and love.

John 4:34 Jesus saith unto them, My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work. Luke 2:49 And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father’s business?

Covenant of service turns God into your employer, promoter, provider and defender.

When God is committed to you in this regard, life becomes easy and successful. Covenant service aligns a believer with God’s purpose

When we enter covenant of service, it aligns us with Gods will. (Matt 6: 33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.) Committed Service redirects our focus from self-centered ambition to God’s centered purpose.

Once alignment is achieved God begin to supply directions, clarify and provision for our personal success.

Covenant service attracts divine favor

Committed service positions a believer for God’s favor which human effort alone cannot produce. (Luke 5:6-8)

Favor accelerates progress, open doors and arouse helper (2Kings 4:8-9) Committed service help Joseph, in Portipher house, via prison to palace

Gen 39:5….. that the LORD blessed the Egyptian’s house for Joseph’s sake; and the blessing of the

LORD was upon all that he had in the house, and in the field. It provokes supernatural provision

God always take responsibility for those who are committed to his work.

1Kings 17: 3 Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan. 4 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

1Kings 19: 5 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. 6 And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baken on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again.

It builds competence and character

Do you know that service develops humility, discipline, faithfulness, leadership and confidence. It makes us better people in the society and on our personal assignments.

Luke 16: 10 He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: It guarantees victory over life battles

God fights for those who are committed to his cause

Numb 12: 2 And they said, Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us? And the LORD heard it. 3 (Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth.) 4 And the LORD spake suddenly unto Moses, and unto Aaron, and unto

Miriam, Come out ye three unto the tabernacle of the congregation. And they three came out. 5 And the LORD came down in the pillar of the cloud, and stood in the door of the tabernacle, and called Aaron and Miriam: and they both came forth. 6 And he said, Hear now my words: If there be a prophet

among you, I the LORD will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream. 7 My servant Moses is not so, who is faithful in all mine house. 8 With him will I speak mouth to mouth, even apparently, and not in dark speeches; and the similitude of the LORD shall he behold: wherefore then were ye not afraid to speak against my servant Moses? 9 And the anger of the LORD was kindled against them; and he departed.

Exd 14: 14 The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace. It gives divine promotion

Promotion in God is tied to committed service

Psalms 75:6 For promotion cometh neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south.

1Sam 18: 5 And David went out whithersoever Saul sent him, and behaved himself wisely: and Saul set him over the men of war, and he was accepted in the sight of all the people, and also in the sight of Saul’s servants.

Luke 19:17 And he said unto him, Well, thou good servant: because thou hast been faithful in a very little, have thou authority over ten cities.

How to enter a covenant service

  1. Make a conscious dedication, not emotional. (Josh 24:15) Surrender your ability to God, your times, resources and skill (Roms 12:1)
  2. Identify where God wants you to serve (Music, administration, media or etc)
  3. Be Committed to faithfulness not only visibility (1Cor 4:2) showing up consistently, doing your small tasks well, serving even when inconvenient
  4. Always seal your service with prayer and fasting (Psalm 50:5)

Conclusion: All the successful people we saw in the Bible are all men of committed service. Abraham – Gen 19, Jacob, David, Moses, Mordecai, Esther, Nehemiah, Paul, Peter, Philip Etc.
