The Place of Grace in Your Covenant Practice

2 Peter 1:2. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

In matter of Covenant practice, much grace is really needed

What is grace?

  • It is that divine help freely given by God, to help your inability to become able. – Heb 11:11
  • Grace is a divine support God gives a believer to enable him achieve God’s purpose for him.

Most people fail because the absence of requisite grace to carry on. Hence every covenant demands diligent commitment towards your obligations for delivery. (Isaiah 1:19, Job 36:11)

Grace helps us to sustain responsibility and our duties in the covenant. In fact, grace makes covenant keeping possible.

Even when we fail in our obligation, grace allows us to repent and continue. (Luk 15:17-18) Without Grace covenant failure would be permanent rejection. – 1John 1:9.

How do we receive grace?

  1. Grace is accessed by faith, by just believing on Christ finished work. (Eph 2:8) (John 1:17)
  2. Walk in humility, acknowledging your need for God’s assistance. (Jam4:6)

We ask God for grace, to help us in times of need (Heb 4:16)

  • Stay in covenant relationship: grace flows through spiritual alignment with God and his church. (Acts 4:33)

Why is grace needed in covenant practice?

Man in his best cannot keep the demands of covenant, but the presence of grace makes it easy. Psalms 39:5….. verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity.)

Note: There’re different graces to whatever we wanted, but the grace for service and good Christian living is our focus in this year.

Christian service is not sustained by zeal and talent but by special grace from God.

1Cor 15: 10 But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

Grace is bestowed on a covenant practitioner, to keep him from weariness or burnout as well make covenant keeping light.

Phil 2: 13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Heb 13: 21 Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

How do I multiply grace?

2 Peter 1:2. Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

Grace is grown through knowledge of God and Christ. Seek to know more about the ways of God

Jeremiah 9:24 But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.
